Who this boat is for

For three anglers who need both casting room and range. For big lakes, lagoons and wide water, where you have to reach the spot fast and carry fuel for the whole day.

The Kimple Sniper 498 is the largest bass boat in the Sniper series: a 4.98 m hull with a 2.15 m beam and a continuous casting deck. Fully welded, not riveted. Three things separate it from the smaller Sniper 468: a built-in 70 l aluminium fuel tank under the seat, up to 75 HP and a third seat. The factory also fits a 90 l livewell with a circulation system, a Kimple SJ console with fuel, voltage and rev gauges and a USB socket, a lockable compartment and five more storage lockers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Kimple Sniper 498

Answers to the questions buyers ask most often. Not here? Call us.

How much does the Kimple Sniper 498 cost?

The standard Sniper 498 costs €14 400 incl. VAT. The engine, trailer and optional equipment are not included; we quote the complete package for your needs.

What engine does the Sniper 498 need?

The maximum power allowed by the manufacturer is 75 HP. In practice 50–75 HP is usual: that is enough to get a 401 kg hull with equipment and three people on plane confidently.

Does it have to be registered and is a licence needed?

Yes. In Lithuania only recreational craft with an engine up to 19 kW (25 HP) are exempt. With a 50–75 HP engine the Sniper 498 is registered with the Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration and the driver needs a boat licence. We help with the paperwork; rules differ in other countries.

Is the fuel tank built in?

Yes. The Sniper 498 has a 70 l aluminium tank under the seat – no portable cans to carry. The smaller Sniper 468 has no built-in tank.

How many people fit?

The manufacturer's plate allows 3 persons. With a 2.15 m beam two anglers can stand at opposite ends while the third sits in the middle.

Which trailer fits?

For the 4.98 m length the Respo 511L191 (up to 5.1 m) fits. As the hull weighs 401 kg and the engine, batteries and equipment add a lot, we pick the exact trailer for your configuration.

Can it be carried on a car roof?

No. A 401 kg hull travels on a trailer only.

What aluminium is it made of?

Bottom and sides 2.5 mm, transom 3.0 mm. The hull is fully welded, not riveted.

Do the photos show the standard package?

No. Both on the water and in the studio the boat is shown with optional equipment – a trolling motor, a fish finder and, in some photos, an engine.

What warranty is given and can it be bought in instalments?

The manufacturer's hull warranty is 1 (one) year; we handle all obligations locally, in Kaunas or the Mažeikiai district. The boat and equipment can be bought in instalments through leasing partners.

How does the Sniper 498 differ from the Sniper 468 and the H166?

Against the Sniper 468 it is 30 cm longer, 15 cm wider, seats three, allows 75 HP instead of 60 and has a built-in 70 l fuel tank. The H166 is almost the same length but heavier (430 kg), allows up to 90 HP and has a Deep-V bow – it handles waves better, while the Sniper 498 is the purer bass boat with the bigger casting deck.
